An app a month seems like an odd yardstick for staying productive. Your own emphasis on quality and accountability cuts against it: a month spent checking whether the app you already built is reliable could be more useful than starting another one. Vibe coding may make building cheaper, but that doesn’t make a steady stream of new apps the best measure of progress.

In reply to Lorenz Bung. I'm very glad to learn that the article help you. In general I like Google products, but this particular decision was very poor on their part. You now have to login to an app that's used to help you with logins! Fortunately all these authenticators work the same way and are interchangeable. Now I keep all the authenticator seeds backed up, so if the need arises, I can import them into another authenticator app.

This post saved me. Crazy how this update would otherwise have lead to the loss of several important accounts. I’ll never use Google Authenticator at all – and avoid other Google products too for that matter.
